What this authority is
The UK Sanctions List is published by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018. Ships are "specified" under a country regime (mostly The Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019).
How to read its list
A Ship entry carries a UniqueID (e.g. RUS2176), the regime, DateDesignated, the UK Statement of Reasons, IMO number, current believed flag, previous flags, type, tonnage and year built.
What a listing prohibits
Shipping sanctions: prohibition of port entry, possible detention and movement directions, and termination of UK registration. Asset freezes apply to the owner where separately designated.
