What this authority is

New Zealand acts under the Russia Sanctions Act 2022, which is a single-country regime created in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Sanctioned ships are published in the Russia Sanctions Register.

How to read its list

The register has a dedicated Ships sheet: IMO number, the ship's name at the date of sanction, alternate names, the date of sanction, which measures apply, and — uniquely among the lists tracked here — an explicit deletion flag, deletion date and reason for deletion.

What a listing prohibits

A ship ban, with asset freeze and service prohibitions where the corresponding columns are set.
