This site sets no tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is a light or dark theme preference, kept locally and never sent anywhere.

Where analytics are enabled they are Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no cross-site identifiers and does not build a profile of you. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, a compliant consent mechanism will come first.

Two forms collect data, both optional. The corrections form stores what you write, and an email address only if you choose to give one, so that we can reply and so that the response time can be measured. The weekly digest stores your email address, uses double opt-in, and carries an unsubscribe link in every message; unsubscribing deletes nothing else because nothing else is held. Neither address is sold, shared or used for anything but its stated purpose. Both forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and a rate limit.

Server logs are processed by Cloudflare as our hosting provider. If advertising is ever introduced it will be on directory pages only, below the content, and never on explainers or vessel pages.

Individuals appear on this site only when named in an official sanctions designation, and only with the facts that designation contains. No crew lists, no addresses beyond what an authority published, no aggregation of personal data from other sources. See the corrections page to raise a problem.
