The latest dated action is 24 August, not 28 August

For a while this site showed 28 August 2026 as the latest listing, from Australia. It was the day 58 entries were edited, not listed. A correction, and what the last active fortnight actually contained.

Until 20 September 2026 the home page showed “28 August 2026, Australia, Listed” as the most recent dated action. That was wrong, and this is what happened and what the real picture is.

What was wrong

Australia’s consolidated list has a “Control Date” column. This site read it as the date of listing. DFAT’s guide to the list defines it as “the last date the sanction entry was updated or edited on the Consolidated List”. On 28 August 2026, 58 entries covering the UN’s designated DPRK vessels were edited, and one Libya-related vessel entry was edited on 21 August. None of those is a listing date, and the list states none.

Every other source was checked the same day. Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United Nations and the United States each give a real listing or designation date and were reading the right field.

What the site shows now

Australian listings show no listing date, with the update date quoted in the entry. The methodology page records the correction.

Removing those dates had one side effect. A vessel’s displayed name follows the authority with the most recent listing date, and Australia’s edit dates had been winning that comparison. Fifty vessels now show the name from the most recently dated authority instead, for example BELGOROD in place of BELOGROD. The earlier names stay on each vessel’s page and stay searchable as other names.

The real latest action

The most recent dated action on any list is 24 August 2026. In the last active fortnight, from 17 to 30 August, the lists dated eight vessels, all from OFAC:

DateAuthorityVesselsProgrammeSource
20 AugustUnited States (OFAC)ARCA DE NOE III JR, SIEMPRE MI ARCAIllicit Drugs — E.O. 14059SDN entries 58355 and 58363
24 AugustUnited States (OFAC)G SILVER, QUANTUM HOPE, SIFRA, STAR PIONE, TELA, VOYAGE ELITEIran — Executive Order 13902 (STAR PIONE: Executive Order 13846)Treasury press release sb0613

The Australian entries edited in that window, including the 58 UN vessels, are the subject of a separate post.

Since 24 August

The lists are fetched every night, and the vessel count has been 2,087 on every run from 10 to 19 September.

  • The OFAC SDN file we fetched on 19 September was issued on 18 September 2026. The most recent vessel listing date in it is 24 August.
  • The UK list we fetched carries a generated date of 11 September 2026. The most recent vessel listing date in it is 6 August 2026.

A quiet stretch therefore means the lists were checked and had nothing new for vessels. It does not mean the site stopped looking, and the home page now says when the lists were last checked next to the date of the latest action.

What would change it

Any authority adding a vessel. The changes page and the RSS feed carry each new listing the day it appears, and you can watch a single vessel or company for changes.

Figures in this post were computed on 20 September 2026 and are not updated afterwards. The statistics page always shows current numbers.
