Corrections and removal requests
If a page here misstates what an official list says, tell us and we will fix it. Include the vessel's IMO number, the authority concerned, and a link to the primary document if you have one.
What we cannot do. This site restates listings published by governments. If an authority currently lists a vessel, we cannot remove that record: the remedy is with the authority that made the designation, and each publishes its own delisting procedure. What we can and will correct is any place where we have misread, mis-dated or mis-attributed what a source says, and we will remove or amend anything that goes beyond what the source states.
How we handle it
- Every submission is logged with a reference and a timestamp.
- We check the claim against the source snapshot for the date in question. Raw source files are archived, so we can see exactly what a list said on any past day.
- If we got it wrong, we fix it in the pipeline so it stays fixed, and publish the correction below.
- If the source itself is wrong, we say so on the page and cite both.
Target response time: five business days.
